Analysis of the process flow of high-temperature grate system

The high-temperature grate system is one of the core equipment in the field of industrial heat treatment, and is widely used in scenarios such as waste incineration, biomass energy utilization, and chemical waste treatment. Its process design directly affects combustion efficiency, emission control, and equipment stability. This article will provide a professional analysis of the entire process from feeding, combustion to slag discharge to help industry practitioners deeply understand this key technology.

The process flow of the high-temperature grate system begins with uniform feeding of fuel. The fuel enters the furnace through a conveyor belt or a screw feeder, and is usually fed in stages to ensure combustion stability. For applications such as waste incineration, pretreatment steps (such as crushing and drying) can optimize fuel properties and reduce the risk of blockage by large particles.

After entering the furnace, the fuel is gradually promoted on the grate for combustion. The grate is usually composed of multiple sections, and the temperature of each section can be controlled to achieve four stages of fuel drying, volatile analysis, fixed carbon combustion, and burnout. The primary air is blown in from the bottom of the grate to provide oxygen and promote the combustion of volatiles; the secondary air is sprayed in from the top of the grate to enhance turbulent mixing and improve combustion efficiency. Some systems are also equipped with tertiary air or flue gas recirculation technology to further reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.

The high-temperature flue gas generated by combustion recovers heat energy through waste heat boilers or heat exchangers for power generation or heating. Flue gas purification systems (such as bag dust removal and wet desulfurization) are then involved to ensure that emissions meet environmental standards. At the same time, the ash on the grate is gradually moved to the slag discharge port under mechanical push and discharged after water cooling or air cooling. Some systems use dry slag discharge technology to reduce water resource consumption.

The process optimization of the high-temperature grate system focuses on energy efficiency improvement and pollution control. The intelligent control system can adjust the air volume, grate speed and temperature distribution in real time to adapt to different fuel characteristics. In the future, as the carbon neutrality goal is promoted, the system will further integrate innovative technologies such as hydrogen energy and plasma-assisted combustion to promote industrial heat treatment to develop in a green and intelligent direction.
